Earning his bachelor's degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School as a Baker Scholar, Schwarzman began his professional journey with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), a prominent New York-based investment bank. In 1985, alongside Peter G. Peterson, he laid the foundation for The Blackstone Group.
Under his adept guidance, Blackstone has evolved into one of the world's foremost private equity entities, marking investments in high-caliber ventures such as Hilton Worldwide, The Weather Channel, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, and the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. By 2021, the firm's assets under management had surpassed the $600 billion mark.
